No website, navigator, coordinator, or preliminary conversation can determine transplant eligibility. A licensed transplant centre must assess the individual, the proposed pathway, available alternatives, and the laws and programme criteria that apply.

- Eligibility can change as health circumstances change.
What a centre may consider
The exact assessment depends on the transplant type and the individual. It may include the underlying condition, prior treatment, organ function, infection or cancer risk, surgical risk, ability to follow treatment, and plans for long-term care.
- Solid-organ, tissue, corneal, and stem-cell pathways use different assessments.
- Living donors require their own independent assessment and protections.
- Deceased-donor access remains subject to authorized allocation rules.
