International Transplant Navigation
International treatment involves much more than contacting a hospital. MedTransplant helps you prepare your medical case, understand suitable options, communicate with selected hospitals and coordinate the practical steps of your treatment journey—from your first enquiry through your return home and follow-up.
No patient-paid referral commission. Treatment payments are made directly to the treating hospital.

No. Hospital treatment charges are determined and invoiced by the treating hospital. Patients pay the hospital directly through its authorized payment channels.
Not necessarily. MedTransplant does not add a referral markup to the hospital quotation. We request clarification where costs are unclear and, when possible, communicate with the hospital to explore appropriate discounts or cost reductions. Final prices, inclusions and payment terms are determined by the hospital.

A continuous pathway
Steps 1–3
A MedTransplant case-management specialist listens to your needs, explains the international treatment pathway and identifies the information and medical records required to begin your case review.
This consultation concerns case preparation and coordination. It is not a medical diagnosis, prescription or emergency service.
We receive and organize the medical information provided by you or your authorized representative, identify obvious missing documents and prepare an initial medical file for review and hospital communication.
The accuracy and completeness of the case depend on the information and documents supplied by the patient, representative and healthcare providers.
Where appropriate, the organized records are reviewed by qualified physicians within MedTransplant’s specialized medical team. The resulting Initial Medical Second Opinion is a preliminary, record-based assessment intended to support informed decision-making and the next stage of hospital selection.
It does not determine final transplant eligibility and does not replace an in-person examination or the final opinion of the treating transplant centre.
Based on the available medical information and the patient’s circumstances, we help identify suitable options within our evaluated hospital network. Relevant considerations may include the patient’s medical needs; the required specialty and hospital capabilities; physician and transplant-team experience; geographic location and accessibility; expected hospital costs; language and international-patient support; and the patient’s stated preferences.
The patient retains the right to review the proposed option, ask questions, request clarification and decline a suggested hospital.
With the patient’s authorization, the organized case is submitted to the selected hospital. The hospital’s specialist team may provide a preliminary opinion regarding suitability, required investigations, the proposed treatment pathway, admission requirements and estimated hospital charges.
Final diagnosis, eligibility, admission and treatment decisions remain exclusively with the treating physicians and the receiving hospital after appropriate clinical evaluation.
We help the patient understand the hospital quotation and seek clarification regarding inclusions, exclusions, deposits and possible additional charges. Where appropriate, we communicate with the hospital to explore available discounts or reasonable cost reductions.
We do not guarantee a particular discount, final price or absence of additional medically necessary charges. Our role is to promote clarity and support the patient’s financial interests without compromising clinically required care.
After the treatment pathway and travel decision are confirmed, our team can coordinate or assist with a suitable travel itinerary; guidance on flight options; hotel or accommodation reservations; airport reception and transfer arrangements; hotel-to-hospital transportation arrangements; hospital appointments and admission preparation; interpreter arrangements; and ground or air medical transportation when clinically required and available.
MedTransplant’s standard coordination assistance is provided without a patient-paid referral commission. Flights, accommodation, transfers, interpreters, ambulances and other third-party services may involve separate charges payable to their respective providers. Any available quotation or known third-party charge will be communicated before the relevant service is confirmed.
Before arrival, we coordinate with the hospital’s international patient department regarding the patient file, planned appointments and admission pathway. During the treatment period, the MedTransplant case-management team remains available to facilitate communication between the patient, the hospital’s international services and the relevant clinical team.
Clinical examinations, diagnoses, prescriptions, procedures and treatment decisions remain the responsibility of the treating hospital and licensed healthcare professionals.
We assist with the practical coordination of discharge, return travel, relevant hospital documentation and transportation arrangements. All medical discharge instructions must be issued or confirmed by the treating hospital.
After the patient returns home, MedTransplant follows up on the coordination pathway and, where needed, facilitates communication between the patient and the treating hospital regarding requested documents, scheduled follow-up or questions requiring the hospital team’s attention.
MedTransplant does not provide emergency care or replace the patient’s local treating physician. Urgent or worsening symptoms require immediate contact with local emergency or healthcare services.
Begin with the available medical records and a secure Case Review.
Clear responsibility
MedTransplant manages the journey as one coordinated process—from decision support and case preparation to hospital communication, travel coordination and post-discharge follow-up facilitation. Patients should not have to navigate each administrative step alone.
Within that continuous pathway, responsibilities remain clear:
Hospital selection
MedTransplant works with established hospitals and specialist teams selected for relevant international patient pathways. Depending on the institution and service line, our evaluation may consider applicable licensing and recognized accreditation; specialist expertise and clinical capability; transplant-program requirements and experience; quality and patient-safety information made available to us; responsiveness and clarity of hospital communication; international-patient and language services; cost transparency and practical accessibility; and direct evaluation or an on-site visit by members of our team, where completed.
We review available institutional information and have personally visited and evaluated selected partner hospitals. An accreditation, partnership or site visit does not guarantee clinical eligibility or a particular treatment outcome.
Financial transparency
Patients do not pay MedTransplant a referral commission for the standard coordination services described on this page. MedTransplant may receive institutional compensation from participating hospitals under separate contractual or referral arrangements.
MedTransplant does not add a referral markup to the hospital’s quotation. The treating hospital determines and invoices its treatment charges, and the patient pays the hospital directly through its authorized channels.
Hospital relationships are one factor in the availability of a pathway, but the matching process also considers the patient’s medical needs, required expertise, practical circumstances, expected costs and stated preferences. Patients remain free to accept or decline a proposed hospital.
Complimentary coordination
Subject to case suitability, patient authorization, service availability and the applicable pathway, our standard coordination support may include:
Important cost clarification: “Complimentary coordination” means that MedTransplant does not charge the patient a referral commission for performing the coordination described above. It does not mean that treatment, flights, hotels, accommodation, visas, transfers, interpreters, ambulances, tests, medicines or other third-party services are free.
Ethical transplant navigation
MedTransplant supports lawful and ethical transplant pathways. We do not buy, sell, source or broker human organs. We do not guarantee donor acceptance, transplant eligibility, hospital admission or treatment outcomes. Every case remains subject to the receiving hospital’s clinical, ethical and legal requirements and any applicable governmental rules.

No. MedTransplant does not buy, sell, source or broker organs. Donor evaluation and acceptance must comply with the transplant centre’s requirements and applicable law.
Where the hospital can provide one, we help obtain and explain a preliminary quotation or cost estimate. Estimates may change following examination, additional testing, complications or clinically necessary changes in treatment.
MedTransplant’s coordination of these arrangements is part of the standard support pathway. The underlying third-party service may carry a separate charge unless it is expressly confirmed in writing as included or complimentary.
We follow up on the coordination pathway and can facilitate communication with the treating hospital. MedTransplant does not replace local medical care, and urgent concerns must be directed to local healthcare or emergency services.
Information on this page is provided for general informational and care-navigation purposes and does not constitute a diagnosis, prescription, emergency service or guarantee of treatment. Any preliminary medical review or Initial Medical Second Opinion is based solely on the records and information submitted and is subject to its stated limitations.
Patients must not start, stop or change medication or treatment solely on the basis of website information or a preliminary record review. Final diagnosis, eligibility, admission and treatment decisions are made by the receiving hospital and its licensed treating professionals following appropriate evaluation.
Service availability, hospital participation, treatment estimates and logistical arrangements may vary by destination and case. Third-party services and charges are governed by the relevant provider’s terms. In an emergency or in the event of urgent or worsening symptoms, contact local emergency services immediately.
