Country preparation brief

What this page helps you do

Prepare a child’s Nigeria-based hematology file for remote review without replacing the local team or assuming that a relative, diagnosis or inquiry establishes transplant eligibility.

Define the question
Request a current pediatric hematology summary stating the diagnosis, disease status, treatment response, transfusion history, complications and reason for transplant review.
Prepare the family file
Include source pathology, marrow, molecular and laboratory reports, medicines, guardian authorization and possible donor information only when clinically requested.
Plan clinical stability
Confirm how transfusions, infection treatment and other time-sensitive care will continue during remote review and any later travel preparation.
Plan follow-up
Identify the Nigerian clinical team that can receive the discharge plan and provide blood-count, medicine, infection and longer-term monitoring after return.
Verification limits
  • Possible donor details remain separate from hospital-led matching, medical assessment and consent.
  • Review does not guarantee admission, transplantation, timing or outcome.
